New residents welcomed as Peacehaven villas take shape

A year on from the start of construction, the first stage of the Peacehaven redevelopment project is taking shape, with six villas built and the first new residents moving into their new homes in the village.

Several owners moved in this month, marking an exciting milestone for the project and for the growing Peacehaven retirement village community.

The first six villas had achieved code compliance, with all of them either sold or under offer. Construction of the second six villas in Stage 1a was well under way and expected to be completed by the end of the year.

Enliven Southland operations manager Matt Pettersson said it was exciting to see the redevelopment moving from construction plans to welcoming new residents.

“This is a significant milestone for Peacehaven. Welcoming the first residents into these beautiful new villas, with all six already sold or under offer, reflects the strong interest and confidence in what is being created here,” he said.

The full redevelopment involves constructing 38 stylish and modern villas and a new residents’ lodge over multiple stages, providing contemporary retirement living options within the established Peacehaven Village. The residents’ lodge is progressing, with detailed design work to be undertaken over the coming months and construction expected to begin in mid-2027, taking approximately one year to be completed.

Stage 1a, which is expected to be completed by the end of this year, involves building 12 villas, a mix of standalone and duplex options, and a show home. The opening of the show home in December last year had helped to drive engagement, with numerous groups and individuals taking the opportunity to explore the unique villa flexible living design and the retirement village’s amenities.

“People are really drawn to the flexibility of the designs. We have a generous array of floor plans, variations and specifications that continue to resonate with potential buyers and their individual needs.”

The entire project is expected to take up to five years to complete.
