Over the past year we have walked alongside and supported 3,594 people of all ages in Southland. Families continue to present in crisis, with an urgent and immediate need for support.
These are increasingly complex situations, which can require lengthy involvement and more often than not families will need to access more than one of our services.
There are many ways you can make a donation to help support our work.
Every contribution, big or small helps people both young and old across Southland.
Unemployment, poverty, family disputes, mental illness, loneliness, social isolation and social inequity are just some of the issues we see people struggling with every day. Your support will help enable us to let them know that they are not alone and they can get the support they need.
Your donation means those who need support are able to access our services and programmes free of charge.

Be a Family Works Angel
At Family Works we see children, young people and their families when they are at their lowest point and need a hand to face life’s challenges.
We support over 1200 Southland families per year with social services, including Foster Care, Family Start Programme, Buddy Programmes, Parenting Programmes, Counselling, Social Work Support and Family Dispute Resolution Services.
Demand for our services continue to grow and we can’t do this alone. We invite you to be a Family Works Angel and help us support Southland families.
There are multiple ways to support:
- $1 per day to support a child
- One-off donation
Any level of support is greatly appreciated.

Donate in Kind & rebates
The reduction of operational costs via in - kind and supplier rebates ensures more funds can go to our service delivery.
Payroll giving
Payroll giving allows employees to donate directly to Presbyterian Support Southland regularly. It is deducted (pre - tax) from their salary and donations over $5 receive a tax rebate.
Collection boxes
Having a collection box at your counter on behalf of PSS is a great way to help out. The money can be deposited directly to our bank account.
