A warm welcome to Rachel Cade who joined the Enliven team on Tuesday (March 18) as the lifestyle coordinator.
She will be based at Central Office, but the role will involve working collaboratively alongside the activities coordinators to support the activities programme being delivered in the care homes.
“It is about enhancing the activities already working well and adding to them,” Rachel said.
Enliven director Carol Riddle said this was a new role created to support and engage the residents, families, and staff in delivering a robust and exciting activity and quality of life programme.
“My vision for this role is to bring our communities into our care homes to share and connect in meaningful ways with our residents.”
Rachel comes from a teaching background.
She has a Bachelor of Teaching degree specialising in early childhood and has worked in several Southland early learning centres including Waianiwa Community Kindergarten and Wee Nippers Early Childhood Centre in Invercargill.
So what attracted her to a role working with older people?
“I was looking for something different…a new challenge. My experience in planning will be a good fit for this role,” Rachel said.
“I am very excited. There are some amazing things that could happen from this role.”
