Stepping out for community support

Presbyterian Support Southland (PSS) has stepped out to support the Cancer Society at Relay for Life.

More than 40 PSS staff and their families took to Rugby Park in late March raising more than $3000 for The Cancer Society and joining hundreds of Southlanders to complete numerous laps of the field over 22 hours.

It was a chance to “celebrate, remember and fight back” in support of the Cancer Society and its research and services.

PSS Communications and Marketing Manager Shelley Erskine said Relay for Life was a positive event to be part of.

“We know there are staff who have been affected by cancer and we look to support our staff wherever possible,” she said.

“As a not for profit organisation we know how important community support is and were delighted to be able to offer our support to such a good cause.”

Relay for Life is an inspiring community event, held in late March. It is a community festival of music, activities and food for family, friends and whānau.
