Thirty-eight years ago this month, Resthaven Village and Care Home staff member Barbara Livingstone started working for the care home, making her Presbyterian Support Southland's (PSS) longest serving staff member.

Barbara started working at Resthaven as a cleaner when she was 17 years old. Since then, she has performed many different roles, including caregiving, house cleaning and working in the laundry. She currently works in the kitchen as a kitchenhand.

“I just love working here,” she said.

She said of all the roles, she enjoyed working in the kitchen the most.

“They are a good team to work with. We always have a laugh in the kitchen.”

Resthaven care home manager Donna McEntyre said Barbara was a friendly and reliable worker, who was kind and thoughtful to her colleagues.

PSS and Enliven thank Barbara for her loyalty, mahi and service over the past 38 years.
