We have been monitoring the situation closely and reviewing our service provision for our Family Works services each day to ensure we are doing everything we can to protect our residents, clients, foster families, volunteers and staff and their families.
We have always had strong cleaning, hygiene and infection controls in place for the health and wellbeing of our staff and clients but we are reminding staff and visitors to be extra vigilant with hand washing and hand hygiene practices. We have reviewed and updated our cleaning and sanitizing plan for our sites to ensure they are cleaned more frequently and with extra care, especially on high contact surfaces such as door handles and handrails. We are following the Ministry of Health guidelines to ensure we all help keep everyone safe. We are also implementing additional cleaning practices for staff visiting in the community.
For visits in the community we are also covering the above along with other information about how visits will be conducted and we will be providing clients with information to keep themselves safe.
We are currently reviewing any meetings or trainings to ensure we are able to meet the requirements under Alert Level 1 to keep everyone safe and well.
We will be checking to before any visit or meeting that they have not been to Auckland or had contact with someone from Auckland, within the last 21 days. If they have had this contact, then the Alert level 2 distancing rules of 2 metres must apply and you are encouraged to wear your mask.
If there has been no contact with anyone from Auckland there are no limits on home visiting now.
We are sending regular updates to our people to make sure our measures and response is in line with the Ministry of Health recommendations as they change.
We have taken away toys and magazines in our waiting room.
Visitors to our Spey Street office during Alert level 1 must abide by the following,
Keep calm, keep vigilant and we will be okay!
