COVID-19

We have been monitoring the situation closely and reviewing our service provision for our Family Works services each day to ensure we are doing everything we can to protect our residents, clients, foster families, volunteers and staff and their families.

We have always had strong cleaning, hygiene and infection controls in place for the health and wellbeing of our staff and clients but we are reminding staff and visitors to be extra vigilant with hand washing and hand hygiene practices. We have reviewed and updated our cleaning and sanitizing plan for our sites to ensure they are cleaned more frequently and with extra care, especially on high contact surfaces such as door handles and handrails. We are following the Ministry of Health guidelines to ensure we all help keep everyone safe. We are also implementing additional cleaning practices for staff visiting in the community.

For visits in the community we are also covering the above along with other information about how visits will be conducted and we will be providing clients with information to keep themselves safe

We are currently reviewing any meetings or trainings to ensure we are able to meet the requirements under Level 2 to keep everyone safe and well.

We are sending regular updates to our people to make sure our measures and response is in line with the Ministry of Health recommendations as they change.

We have taken away toys and magazines in our waiting room.

Visitors to our Spey Street office during alert level 2 must abide by the following,

  • Hand sanitize on arrival.
  • Sign in and out on our contact tracing register.
  • Follow social distancing protocol.
  • Stay home if you have been tested for COVID-19, are feeling unwell or have cold and flu symptoms.
  • Do not visit if you have travelled from the North Island within the last 14 days.

Keep calm, keep vigilant and we will be okay!
