SupportLink Coordinator

Presbyterian Support Southland (PSS) is a Charitable Trust and is the largest social service and aged care provider in Southland. PSS encompasses two service arms – Family Works, which offers a range of social services, from counselling and social work support, through to buddy and parenting programmes, and Enliven, which provides a range of services for our elderly. We work to enable a positive and lasting change for everyone in our community and offer support services to people regardless of their belief, ethnicity or background.

The Role:

We have a permanent part time position available (15 hours per week) for an organised individual to to develop, support, coordinate and monitor the activities of our superstar volunteers who provide the SupportLink service for our elderly clients in the community.

For the right candidate this role could be combined with the Pastoral Care Coordinator role to create a full-time position. If you want to be considered for both roles please let us know in your cover letter.

Key Responsibilities:

The key tasks for the role include, but are not limited to:

  • Coordination and delivery of the SupportLink service
  • Recruitment, screening and placement of our volunteers
  • Building networks with other aligned community agencies
  • Maintaining accurate database records
  • Recording and reporting on activities undertaken

What you will need to be successful in the role:

  • Have a positive attitude and passion for working with and supporting the elderly in our community
  • Previous experience in recruiting, training and managing others
  • Sound computer skills
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Empathic, friendly, respectful and approachable
  • Self-motivated, highly organised and able to work with autonomy
  • Trustworthy, discrete, professional and able to maintain confidentiality
