Family Works is an approved Child and Family Support Service and Community Service under Sections 396 & 403 of the Children, Young Persons and their Families Act 1989.
Our services are free, confidential and available to children, young people and their families. We work with children and young people from 0-17 years old, as well as their parents and families.
At the heart of Family Works is the understanding that family life can be challenging, no matter what your experience and resources. We work from the basis that strong, self-sufficient families are the best places to grow happy and healthy children, and the family is the backbone of each and every community.
Our work is about empowering families to help themselves as they face the inevitable challenges of family life, and to work with them so they can flourish.
We work very closely with the Ministry of Social Development and are well connected both locally and nationally.
Family Works is an initiative of Presbyterian Support Southland, which is a charitable trust working on behalf of the community. Many of our services rely on community support through donations, volunteering and bequests.
