Housekeeper - Walmsley House

Presbyterian Support Southland (PSS) is a Charitable Trust and is the largest social service and aged care provider in Southland. PSS encompasses two service arms – Family Works, which offers a range of social services, from counselling and social work support, through to buddy and parenting programmes, and Enliven, which provides a range of services for our elderly. We work to enable a positive and lasting change for everyone in our community and offer support services to people regardless of their beliefs, ethnicity or background.

A centrally located home with 31 rest home beds, Walmsley House is ideally located on a quiet street close to the Sylvan Bank shops and city bus routes.

With a friendly and dedicated team of staff across the home, Walmsley House maintains a family atmosphere and ensures the best possible individualised care.

The Role:

We have two permanent part time roles available at Walmsley house for Housekeepers.  The roles are four days on four days off working four hours per day.  Flexibility around hours of work can be negotiable for the right candidate.

Key responsibilities:

• Regularly cleaning residents rooms, dining rooms and common areas
• Ensuring designated areas are cleaned to a high standard
• Keeping all work areas, including the cleaners cupboard, clean and tidy
• Ensuring the health and safety of yourself and others is maintained while undertaking cleaning tasks

What you will need to be successful:

• One years’ experience in a similar role preferred
• Physical fit
• Excellent communication skills
• Understanding of health and safety requirements in the workplace
