Payroll Administrator

Presbyterian Support Southland (PSS) is a Charitable Trust and is the largest social service and aged care provider in Southland. PSS encompasses two service arms – Family Works, which offers a range of social services, from counselling and social work support, through to buddy and parenting programmes, and Enliven, which provides a range of services for our elderly. The Role:

We have a full-time permanent opportunity for an experienced payroll administrator to join our team.  The purpose of the role is to provide accurate, professional, timely and cost-effective management of the payroll activities within Presbyterian Support Southland and assist with Human Resources administrative tasks.

Key responsibilities:

This role will include a range of tasks including but not limited to ensuring:

  • All employee records are kept up to date
  • Pay run calculations are completed in a timely manner
  • PAYE Schedules are filed on time with Inland Revenue
  • Backups are completed after each pay run
  • Regular reporting is provided to managers
  • Payroll audit checks are completed on a monthly basis
  • All payroll processes undertaken are in line with current legislation

What you will need to be successful:

  • At least two years’ experience in a similar role
  • Previous experience working with IMS and/or People Inc an advantage
  • Relevant tertiary qualification preferred
  • Previous administration experience at a high level
  • A commitment to keeping up to date with legislative changes
