About us:

Presbyterian Support Southland (PSS) is a Charitable Trust and is the largest social service and aged care provider in Southland. PSS encompasses two service arms – Family Works, which offers a range of social services, from counselling and social work support, through to buddy and parenting programmes, and Enliven, which provides a range of services for our elderly. We work to enable a positive and lasting change for everyone in our community and offer support services to people regardless of their beliefs, ethnicity or background.

Peacehaven Village is located on Tweed Street and provides a range of care options for the elderly in our community from self-contained units to hospital care.


About the role:

We are looking for an energetic individual who can manage their time effectively and work both as part of a team and independently.

The role is a minimum of twenty-one (21) hours per week working the afternoon shift (2.15pm to 10.00pm) on a rostered basis with the ability to cover the morning shift (5.30am to 2.00pm) as and when required to cover leave.  Extra hours available from time to time.

Peacehaven Village operates 24 hours a day 7 days a week so you will need to be able to work weekends and public holidays as rostered.

The Kitchenhand is responsible for meal service and assisting with cleaning of kitchen to ensure the area is kept to a high standard and meets hygiene and quality standards.


What you will need to be successful in the role:

  • Previous food handling experience preferred
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure
  • Able to communicate effectively and take direction
