Presbyterian Support Southland (PSS) is a Charitable Trust and is the largest social service and aged care provider in Southland. PSS encompasses two service arms – Family Works, which offers a range of social services, from counselling and social work support, through to buddy and parenting programmes, and Enliven, which provides a range of services for our elderly. About the role:

We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our Invercargill based team.  Reporting to the Director of Finance and Business Support you be responsible for the month end and year end reporting of Presbyterian Support Southland Group as well as ongoing development of processes and systems.

Key responsibilities:

This role will include a range of tasks including but not limited to:

  • Preparation of high quality monthly financial reports
  • Analysis and reporting on variances
  • Managing accounting processes including fixed assets, accruals/provisions/prepayments, expenditure allocations and revenue recognition.
  • Managing month end reconciliations
  • Completing financial year end requirements and assisting with external audit requirements
  • Supporting the Director of Finance and Business Support in delivery of key projects

What you will need to be successful in the role:

  • Be CA qualified with experience in a senior accounting position for a large organisation
  • Have strong technical ability in accounting systems and processes (previous experience in Sage 300/Accpac would be an advantage)
  • Experience in using financial information systems and excellent excel proficiency
  • Confident and effective communication skills
  • Show commitment to providing services in the spirit of the Treaty of Waitangi.
