Presbyterian Support Southland (PSS) is a Charitable Trust and is the largest social service and aged care provider in Southland.

PSS encompasses two service arms – Enliven, which offers services for the older generation including residential aged care, retirement living options and support while living at home, and Family Works, which offers a range of social services.

We work to enable a positive and lasting change for everyone in our community and offer support services to people regardless of their beliefs, ethnicity or background.

The Role

This part-time role is focused on coordinating, administering and maintaining SupportLink, a service that matches trained volunteers with elderly people living in their own homes, and in Enliven Care Homes.

This is a varied role which will involve recruiting and training SupportLink volunteers, supporting clients who are referred to the programme and working alongside relevant agencies in the area. 

Preferred applications will ideally have:

  • Experience in and a passion for working with and supporting older people
  • The ability to facilitate activities that empower older people
  • A level of flexibility with hours of work
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Evidence of entitlement to work in New Zealand will be requested, as is a full driver's license, and as will pre-employment checks

The role is for 15 hours per week.
