Parenting Programme

Family Works offers a general support and information programme to help understand the stages of our children's development, their needs and how we as parents/caregivers respond to these changes. 

Children and young people need parenting which will help them grow into confident people with tools to succeed and gain satisfaction out of life.

• learn strategies for managing children’s behaviour?
• gain confidence in your parenting?

The Parenting Programme is free of charge and runs for eight weeks.  The programme, which runs during each school term, focuses on parenting children and young people between the ages 0 - 18 years. 

Programme dates 2024

• Wednesdays, 7 February - 27 March  (7-9pm)
• Wednesdays, 8 May - 29 June  (9.30-11.30am)
• Wednesdays, 31 July - 18 September  (9.30-11.30am)
• Wednesdays, 16 October - 4 December (9.30-11.30am)

The Parenting Programme is Invercargill-based, although we accept referrals from throughout Southland.

Child minding and transport assistance may be available, please inquire for more information.
