Vickery Court Manager Carol Riddle was humbled to receive a Sunrise Rotary Pride of Workmanship Award recently.

Carol was nominated for the award, which recognises dedication and commitment to excellence in the workplace, by a member of the Sunrise Rotary club.

“You don’t always see the value of your job from outside of your work environment, so I felt really proud that they have viewed the work we do as so valuable.”

Carol is making her mark on Vickery Court and Enliven; a role model for other women looking to progress within the aged care industry.

Having started her career as an Enrolled Nurse, further study enabled her to become a Registered Nurse and go on to work in a range of roles, including an NZQA Assessor, Clinical Manager, and now Manager.

She is a firm believer that education plays a pivotal role when it comes to career pathways.

“As a female it is hugely important to maintain currency so that you are competitive in the job market,” she says.
“As a manager I am focused on supporting staff to achieve education qualifications to give them the best opportunity to progress.”
